About This Hike
Starting near Mirador de San Pedro, this scenic coastal trail takes you through the protected landscape of Rambla de Castro, one of the most picturesque natural areas in northern Tenerife.
The route follows historic pathways surrounded by lush vegetation, palm groves, and banana plantations while offering stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean and Tenerife’s dramatic northern coastline.
Along the way, you’ll discover several notable landmarks, including the impressive Gordejuela Water Pumping Station, Tenerife’s first steam-powered water pumping facility, the historic Fortín de San Fernando, La Casona de Castro, and the charming Ermita de San Pedro.
Combining nature, history, and spectacular scenery, this is one of the most rewarding short hikes on the island.

Only about 10 minutes by car from the Rambla de Castro Trail, the El Rosario – Las Aguas Trail is an excellent addition for hikers looking to explore more of Tenerife’s beautiful north coast.
Combining both routes in one day offers a wonderful mix of coastal scenery, traditional landscapes, and peaceful walking paths away from the island’s busiest tourist areas.
